BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, melted
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Grease an 11x7x2 baking dish. Pour melted butter into a large bowl; add sugar and beat well. Cool slightly. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together onto wax paper; stir into sugar mixture. Stir in nuts.

Spread mixture in pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 30-35 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Gently remove.
