OLD-FASHIONED SOFT SUGAR COOKIES 
3 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sour cream

Cream shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Then add sour cream, mix. Add flour, soda and salt. Mix well. Roll to 1/4 inch thickness. Bake at 425 degrees for about 10 minutes to suit your taste in brownness. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen cookies.
