PEAR PRESERVES 
4 lbs. pears
3 lbs. sugar
1 c. water

Wash and pare the pears; cut in uniform pieces. Mix the sugar and water, then add prepared pears and stir until boiling. Boil rapidly until syrup thickens. Pour at once into sterile hot jars and seal.
