CHERRY - COCONUT BARS 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. confectioners' sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. coconut
1/2 c. cherries, quartered

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Measure flour by dip, level, pour method or by sifting. With hands mix 1 cup flour, butter and confectioners' sugar until smooth. Spread them with fingers in square pan 8 x 8 x 2 inches. Bake about 25 minutes. Stir all remaining ingredients into eggs. Spread over base. Bake about 25 minutes more.
