CHEESE STRAWS 
1 lb. sharp cheddar cheese
3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. red pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 lb. (3 sticks) butter, real cold

Grate butter coarse. Mix with sifted flour mixture. Add grated cheese and blend. Roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut in strips. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until slightly brown. Makes 11 to 12 dozen.
