1 c. butter
2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
5 1/2 c. flour

Mix. Refrigerate overnight. Roll 1/8 inch thick. Cut with a drinking glass, approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Sprinkle tops with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes or at 375 degrees for 4 minutes. Finished size 3 inches.
