APPLE SOUR CREAM STREUSEL CAKE 
CAKE BATTER:

3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks butter), softened
1 c. granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
2 apples, peeled and sliced
2 tbsp. apple jelly

STREUSEL:

Mix all ingredients together until crumbly: 1/4 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. butter, softened 1/4 c. finely chopped walnuts

In a large bowl, cream the butter with the granulated sugar. Beat in the eggs, then the sour cream and vanilla. In another bowl, stir together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Beat into the creamed mixture.

Turn half the batter into a greased and floured tube pan. Sprinkle with half the streusel mixture. Lay the apple slices on top and dot with the jelly. Cover with the remaining batter and sprinkle with the remaining streusel.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until it tests done with a toothpick. Transfer to a rack to cool.
