PRUNE BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. buttermilk
1 chopped cooked prunes
3/4 c. chopped black walnuts

In large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. In separate bowl sift flour and dry ingredients. Alternately add dry ingredients and buttermilk to creamed mixture. Fold in prunes and nuts. Grease to 7 1/2 inch loaf pans, line bottoms with greased wax paper, dust with flour. Divide batter between the 2 pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 or 60 minutes. Turn onto cake rack, remove wax paper and cool completely.
