HAM BLANKET
4 c. flour
1 c. dark brown sugar
2 T. cinnamon
2 T. ground cloves
2 T. ground mustard
1 T. black pepper
Water, enough to make a stiff dough
(like a pie crust)
(double ingredients for a whole ham)

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Mix all the ingredients together, roll out like pie crust, set ham on crust, wrap ham as much as possible, then pick up and place in a large pan, now you can finish making sure that it is completely covered and closed up. If it is to wet and starts to sag before you get it into the oven, pat with extra flour.

Do not cover with foil or anything, bake until crust is dark brown and hard. (about an hour or two, check crust) I have never really timed it, Remove and let rest until you can touch crust and it is nice and warm. We use a hammer to crack the crust, not to hard though, as it will go into the ham. Now, peel the crust off, (Do not eat the crust, toss out) Enjoy!!!

** Save the bone with some ham on it if you can and use in your beans, awesome!

*** You can make a red eye gravy out of the drippings in the pan, it is wonderful too.
