CUSTARD PIE 
1 plain pastry pie shell
4 slightly beaten eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. scalded milk
dash of nutmeg

Keep crust chilled, while making filling. Blend eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla and almond. Gradually stir in scalded milk. Add nutmeg. May sprinkle a bit on top of custard.

Bake in oven at 400°F for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool 15 to 30 minutes, then chill.

To Make Crust:

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
4 to 5 tbsp. cold water
