TEXAS TRASH | |
1 lg. box sweetened oat cereal 1 lg. box donut shaped cereal 1 lg. box wheat, rice or corn Chex cereal 1 lg. box Captain Crunch cereal 1 box stick pretzels 2 lbs. pecan halves 1 (15 oz.) bottle Worcestershire sauce 4 tbsp. seasoned salt 4 tbsp. celery salt 4 tbsp. chili powder 2 tsp. hot pepper sauce 4 tbsp. garlic powder 1 lb. butter 2 c. bacon fat 2 tbsp. liquid smoke Mix cereals, pretzels and pecans in a large roasting pan. Combine remaining ingredients and bring to boil in saucepan. Pour over dry mixture, spreading evenly and mixing well. Put in preheated 200 degree oven and stir every 10 minutes. This is very time consuming, but worth it. After 1 1/2 hours, test to see if dry mixture has taken up all of the juice or is almost dry. Let cool well and keep in coffee cans. This will fill at least 4 (2 lb.) coffee cans and will keep indefinitely. Can substitute peanuts for pecans. |
