GINGER SNAP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. molasses
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, unbeaten. Beat until light and fluffy then add molasses and mix until blended. Add dry ingredients that have been sifted together and mix again.

Form into balls, walnut size and dip into sugar. After cookies are on cookie sheet, wet finger and touch the top of each cookie.
