CHOCOLATE MOUSSE PIE | |
1 1/2 c. Nabisco chocolate wafer crumbs 1/4 c. unsalted butter, melted 4 oz. semi sweet chocolate 4 eggs, separated 4 tbsp. sweet butter 1 c. whipping cream 3 tbsp. of sugar 2 tbsp. liqueur such as Grand Marnier, Tia Maria, Amaretto, Kahlua (optional) Make crust with melted butter and crumbs by mixing thoroughly and pressing into a pie plate or spring form (8 to 10 inch) and chill. Melt chocolate with butter in small saucepan over low flame. Add egg yolks very carefully in a little stream. Separately beat egg whites with pinch of salt and pinch of cream of tartar until stiff. Fold beaten whites into egg yolk mixture until well mixed. Pour into wafer crust and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Serve with whipped cream, sweetened to taste and flavored with liqueur. |
