1 c. Pet milk, soured with 3 tbsp. vinegar & let stand while you combine rest of ingredients
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tbsp. vanilla
4 heaping c. flour
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking soda

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, then vanilla. Add flour, salt and soda mixture alternately with batter. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet and pat down with floured glass. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
