CALIFORNIA CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion
2 cloves garlic, diced
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
3 tbsp. granulated sugar (to cut the can taste)
1/2 (1/2 lb.) bag noodles

Mix in separate bowl: 1 (6 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese 1 c. chopped scallions 3/4 c. pitted sliced black olives

Shred 12 ounces of cheddar cheese and set aside. Cook and drain noodles and set aside.

Brown ground beef, onion, garlic and drain. Add tomato sauce, paste, and sugar. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 15 minutes. Take a 13"x9"x2" dish and line the bottom with a little sauce. Put cooked noodles in, then the rest of sauce. Add the sour cream mixture and top with cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
