BRENDA'S GRILLED CABBAGE | |
Once you have eaten cabbage cooked this way, you won't ever want to eat them cooked any other way! 1 cabbage butter, softened salt and pepper, to taste aluminum foil Cut cabbage into wedges. For small head, just quarter, but for large heads, cut in half and then cut each half in to 3 or 4 wedges. Rinse well. Tear as many squares of aluminum foil as needed to wrap each wedge. Place a wedge of cabbage in the middle of aluminum foil. Using softened butter, separate one end of wedge in several places and spread butter, and add salt and pepper. Spread butter on the outside of each wedge, salt and pepper to taste. Wrap tightly and place on grill over ready coals and cook for about 30 to 45 minutes. Look at one after 30 minutes, and if not tender enough for you, cook longer. Cook till desired doneness. We like ours "just" done. Great served with steak or barbecue meats. You can also bake them in a conventional oven. Submitted by: Brenda Harvey |
