BUTTERSCOTCH DATE SQUARES | |
1/2 c. butter 2 c. brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 box pitted dates, cut up 1 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. chopped nuts Melt butter, add sugar and stir over heat until smooth. Remove from heat, add dates; add whole eggs and vanilla, beat well. Mix nuts with sifted dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour into buttered 10 x 16 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, about 15 to 20 minutes. When cool, cut into bars. Recipe may be cut in half. Coconut may be used instead of dates and nuts. |
