NEVER FAIL PIE CRUST | |
5 c. flour 1 1/2 tbsp. sugar 2 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. shortening (not lard) 1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar 1 large egg 1 c. water Mix flour, shortening, salt and sugar until mealy. Add vinegar to egg and beat together with water. Mix and chill for 1 hour. Keep in refrigerator. Makes enough crust for 4 to 5 pies. For smaller amount cut recipe in half. This crust is great for frozen pies. |
