MATTHEW'S JAM COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 egg yolks
3 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raspberry jam

Cream shortening and sugars. Add egg yolks, milk and vanilla. Sift into batter your flour, tartar, soda and salt. Chill 1 hour. Roll 1/2 of dough out onto lightly floured surface. Cut into shape.

Place on ungreased sheet. Put 1/2 teaspoon jam on top. Roll out other 1/2 of dough. Place small whole in middle. Place on top of jam piece. Seal edges. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes.
