BAKED KRAUT DISH 
1/2 lb. bacon, cut fine
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1/2 c. sugar (part brown)
1 c. tomato sauce
1 lg. can sauerkraut, rinsed & drained

Fry bacon some, then add onion and fry until onions are tender. (Pour off part of grease if a lot is formed.) Add sugar and tomato sauce, and cook until sugar is melted; add sauerkraut. Put in greased casserole. You may top with buttered bread crumbs, if desired. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour, or until top looks crunchy, if you used the bread crumbs.
