PORK CHOW MEIN | |
12 c. water 2 pork chops or country style deboned ribs 1/2 lb. hamburger (crumbled) 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 5 sliced stalks celery Oriental sub gum 2 bouillon cubes, beef 1/3 c. soy sauce 3 sliced med. onions 8 oz. bean sprouts Put water, bouillon, pork, hamburger, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, onions and celery in a large pot and simmer for 2 hours. Remove pork and flake, discarding any fat and return meat to pot. Add bean sprouts and cook until tender (about 15 minutes). To thicken, add 3 heaping tbsp. sub gum with 3/4 cup warm water and add to pot. Add more if a thicker sauce is desired. Serve over Chinese noodles or rice. |
