FRESH APPLE PIE | |
5 medium size Granny Smith apples 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 5 tbsp. flour 1/2 stick butter Peel and slice apples thin. Arrange in bottom of deep-dish pie crust. Mix dry ingredients and spread dry mixture over top of apples. Cut butter in small pieces and place over pie filling. Put top crust on pie and pierce with fork so steam can escape. Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes. Then reduce heat to 350°F and bake until golden brown and apples are tender. |
