BLONDE BROWNIES 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat, add brown sugar and stir well, cool. Add egg. Mix well. Stir in dry ingredients, then add vanilla, nuts and chips. Spread in well battered 8" square pan in moderate oven, 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
