SHRIMP CURRY 
2 tbsp. shortening
1 chopped onion
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 chopped bell pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. curry powder
1 tsp. turmeric
1 (4 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (optional)
1 1/2 lbs. raw shrimp

Brown onion, garlic and pepper in melted shortening. Add seasonings, stirring constantly. Add tomato sauce at once and heat to boiling point. Shell and clean shrimp and add to curry with mushrooms. Simmer approximately 15 minutes until shrimp is tender. Serve with fluffy boiled rice and chutney preserves.
