TURTLE CAKE | |
1 German chocolate cake mix 1/2 c. canned milk (do not use Milnot) 3/4 c. melted butter 1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels 1/3 c. canned milk (Carnation) 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans 1 c. (6 oz.) chocolate chips Disregard instructions on cake mix package. Mix cake mix, canned milk and butter and pour 1/2 of batter into 9x13 inch greased and floured pan and bake for only 5 minutes. Cake will be puffy and gooey. While above is baking, melt caramels and 1/3 cup milk over low heat. When melted and mixed, drizzle over gooey cake, and then add nuts and chips. Dot with the remaining cake mix and return to oven and bake for 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not overbake. |
