SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
1 lb. ground beef 6 slices whole wheat bread 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. salt 1 can Campbell's beef consomme 1 can Campbell's tomato soup Mix together all of the above; shape lightly with your fingers into 1 inch balls. Brown on all sides in a lightly greased skillet. Heat 1 can of consomme and add cooked meatballs. Cover pot and cook over very low heat 1 1/2 hours. Add extra consomme or tomato sauce if desired or if meatballs seem to be sticking. |
