1 egg
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. apples, cut up fine

Beat egg, add sugar, beat until smooth. Combine flour, baking powder and salt, stir into egg mixture. Add rest of the ingredients. Bake in 8 x 8 inch greased pan at 350 degrees for 15 minutes and at 300 degrees for the last 10 minutes. Cut and invert on serving plates so that apples are on top. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream, cubes of cheese or just plain.
