DANISH COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening (half butter)
1 c. white sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. butter flavoring
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening and sugar; beat in eggs and flavorings. Add dry ingredients and stir well. Batter will be stiff. Roll into balls, set on greased or teflon cookie sheet and flatten with sugar dipped cookie press or glass bottom. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.
