BUTTERNUT CAKE 
1 c. Crisco (solid)
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. flour (plain)
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sweet milk
1 tbsp. vanilla (butternut flavor)

Cream sugar, Crisco, and eggs on high speed for 10 minutes. Add 1 cup flour, beat 1 minute on medium speed. Add remainder of flour and milk alternately and beat on medium speed. Add flavoring and bake at 350 degrees. 9 inch layers (3 or 5)

BUTTERMILK FROSTING:

1 stick butter, softened
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 tbsp. butternut flavoring
1 c. chopped pecans

Combine all and frost cake.
