MY FAVORITE JAM CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. blackberry jam
1 c. broken pecans or walnuts

Cream butter and sugar. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk. Add slightly beaten eggs. Blend well. Fold in jam and nuts. Pour into 2 greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Ice with caramel icing when cool.
