CHEESE CHIVE BISCUITS
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 c. milk
1/4 c. chopped chives
2 tbsp. melted butter

Mix flour, baking powder, and salt with a fork. Cut in shortening until mix resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese and chives.

Add the milk and stir with a fork just until mixture forms a soft dough that pulls away from side of bowl. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thick.

Cut with the floured biscuit cutter and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter. Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
