COCONUT POUND CAKE | |
1 1/2 c. vegetable shortening 2 1/4 c. sugar 5 eggs 1 c. milk 3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tsp. coconut flavor 1 c. Flako coconut Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs for 10 minutes. Combine the dry ingredients; add alternately with milk. Add flavor and coconut. Pour into greased and floured tube pan; place in cold oven. Set control at 325 degrees and bake for 1 1/2 hours. Cool. Keep covered tightly to hold moisture in. Coconut may be omitted if desired. Use standard measuring cups all measurements are level. |
