ISABEL'S STEAK SOUP | |
1/2 lb. ground beef 1 stick butter 1 c. flour 5 c. water 1/2 tsp. pepper 3 bouillon cubes 8 oz. canned tomatoes 1 1/2 tsp. "Kitchen Bouquet" 1/2 c. chopped onions 1 c. frozen mixed vegetables 1/2 c. chopped carrots Brown and drain beef. Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour. Mix over medium heat. Add water while heating, stir until thickened. Add pepper, bouillon, tomatoes. Cook several minutes while stirring. Add remaining ingredients. Cook, uncovered, on medium heat 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. This is a thick, hearty main dish soup. It's easy to double the recipe. |
