CHERRY CHEESE BARS 
CRUST:

1 c. nuts, chopped
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter Crisco

CHEESE LAYER:

2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2/3 c. sugar
:
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
:

Mix crust ingredients and retain 1/2 cup. Press remaining into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until light brown. Remove from oven and add cream cheese layer while hot.

Cream Cheese Layer: Cream all ingredients together in mixer. Pour on crust. Bake 15 minutes longer. Spread cherries over cheese. Sprinkle retained crust on top. Bake an additional 15 minutes. Cool. Refrigerate several hours.
