BRANDIED STRAWBERRIES WITH CREME
FRAICHE
 
3 pts. strawberries, washed, stemmed & hulled, drained
1/3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cherry brandy
1 c. creme fraiche
1/2 c. pistachio nuts, chopped

Combine the strawberries with the sugar and cherry brandy. Marinate in the refrigerator several hours, tossing once in awhile. Serve in individual bowls and top with dollop of creme fraiche. Sprinkle with the nuts.

CREME FRAICHE:

1 tsp. buttermilk
1 c. heavy cream

Mix the buttermilk and the heavy cream together in a glass jar. Cover and let stand for 6 to 8 hours. Stir, then refrigerate until needed.
