YEAST ROLLS
2 c. lukewarm water
2 pkg. yeast
3 tbsp. shortening
1/3 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten

Soften yeast in lukewarm water, add next three ingredients. Mix well.

1/6 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 c. flour

Beat until smooth and elastic. Add 3 to 3 1/2 cups flour, to make dough easy to handle. Place on floured board and knead until smooth, about 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl and let rise 45 minutes, if using fast acting yeast or 1 1/2 hour if using regular yeast, or until double. Form into rolls and place in greased pans. Let rise until double, bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown. Makes 24 rolls.
