HONEY - WHEAT BREAD | |
2 pkgs. active dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 1/3 c. honey 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. shortening 1 3/4 c. warm water 2 c. whole wheat flour 3 or 4 c. all-purpose flour 1 tbsp. soy flour and 1 tbsp. wheat germ (optional) Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Stir honey, salt, and shortening into 1 3/4 cup warm water and whole wheat flour. Beat and stir in enough flour until dough is easy to handle. I knead it until not sticky. Let rise until double, knead down. Let rise again. Divide into 3 equal amounts. Form into loaves. Put in greased pans. Let rise until double or less. Place in 375 degree oven for 35 minutes. |
