HOMEMADE HOT BUTTERED RUM MIX 
1 bottle inexpensive rum
2 lbs. brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 lb. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Kettle of boiling water

Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla into softened butter. At this point mixture can either be refrigerated or frozen until ready to use.

For each serving add 1 tablespoon of the mix to 6 ounces boiling water and 1/2 to 1 1/2 ounces rum. Great on a cold wintery night in front of the fire!
