DATE NUT BREAD 
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk (or 1/2 c. milk, 1/2 c. yogurt)
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 c. whole wheat flour (or a mixture of whole wheat and unbleached white flour)
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped dates (easiest way is to cut them with scissors)
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

Beat eggs. Add milk and oil. Mix dry ingredients; toss with dates and nuts. Add to liquid ingredients. Mix lightly. Pour in oiled bread pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Can be served hot or cold, or spread with cream cheese.
