BEEF IN OYSTER SAUCE 
1 lb. top round
2 tbsp. oil
1 minced garlic clove
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. Chinese oyster sauce
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. hot beef broth
1/4 c. sliced mushrooms
1/4 c. sliced water chestnuts
4 chopped scallions

Cut the beef in 1 inch cubes. Heat the oil in a deep skillet; brown the beef and garlic in it. Add the salt, soy sauce, oyster sauce, water, sugar and broth. Mix well; cover and cook over low heat 25 minutes. Add the mushrooms, water chestnuts and scallions. Cook over medium heat 3 minutes.
