APPLE - DAPPLE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. cooking oil
3 eggs
2 tbsp. vanilla
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. diced apples
1 c. nuts

Beat well sugar, cooking oil, eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour, baking soda and salt. Fold in apples and nuts. Pour into tube pan and bake for 1 hour at 300 degrees.

GLAZE:

1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 c. evaporated milk

Place butter and sugar in double boiler. Stir in milk. Bring to a full boil (3 minutes). Pour hot sauce over hot cake. Let set in pan for 2 hours. Remove.
