Cream together:

2 c. butter
2 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar

ADD:

2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs

Blend small amounts of oatmeal in blender until it becomes a fine powder and measures 5 cups. Mix together:

5 c. oatmeal powder
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder

Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Add:

24 oz. bag chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) bar plain Hershey chocolate (finely grated)
3 c. chopped nuts, any kind

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Make golf ball size, 2 inches apart at 400 degrees for 6 minutes in conventional oven or 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes regular oven.
