DATE LOG 
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 c. brown sugar
1 (8 oz.) box chopped dates
2 c. Crisp rice cereal
1 c. pecans
confectioners' sugar

Add brown sugar to melted butter and stir together over medium heat. Add dates. Boil 5 minutes and stir until melted. Remove from heat and add rice cereal and pecans. Mix well. Cool slightly then roll in the shape of a log. Roll in confectioners' sugar. Place on waxed paper. Slice and serve.
