SPANISH RICE 
1 1/2 c. raw long grain rice
1/2 c. olive oil, butter
1 1/2 c. tomato juice
1 c. water
1 1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. hamburger or sausage, fried and drained

Saute raw rice in oil until golden brown. Place in crock with all remaining ingredients. Stir well. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, or 2 to 3 hours in oven.
