APPLE PASTRY SQUARES 
2 1/2 c. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
2 egg yolks - add milk to make 2/3 c.
1 c. corn flakes
6 c. apples
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 egg whites

Combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening. Beat egg yolks, add milk to make 2/3 cup. Add to flour mixture. Roll 1/2 mixture and put in jelly roll pan. Over this crumble 1 cup corn flakes. Add apple mixture. Top with remaining crust.

Beat 2 egg whites, spread over top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 50 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar frosting while hot. Rhubarb may be used instead of apples.
