CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Few drops of hot water
Lg. pkg. chocolate chips

Cream shortening, sugar, vanilla and eggs; add dry ingredients and mix well. Add few drops of hot water and mix. Add chocolate chips and stir to blend. Drop by teaspoonful on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Yield 4 dozen.
