POT ROAST | |
6 lb. chuck roast 1 pkg. carrots, peeled & halved 6 med. potatoes, peeled & cubed 1 onion, chopped (opt.) 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 pkg. Lipton dry onion soup mix 3 cans water Salt & pepper Flour Oil Season roast with salt and pepper. Coat with flour and brown in oil in Dutch oven (on top of stove). When roast is brown on both sides, place a wire rack under the roast and cover with lid. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Mix mushroom soup, soup mix and water with wire whisk. Pour over roast. Bake 2 hours. Meanwhile, prepare vegetables and salt and pepper generously. Put vegetables in Dutch oven with roast and bake 1 more hour. |
