GINGERBREAD COOKIES 
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup molasses
3 tbsp. hot water

Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Blend well. Chill dough at least 1 hour before handling.

Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness. Use gingerbread man cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool and decorate.
