DUTCH APPLE PIE 
1 (9 inch) deep dish unbaked pie shell
5 to 7 tart apples, peeled & sliced
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. cornstarch

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. butter

Mix apples with sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch and pour into pie shell. Top with crumb topping and bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.

DIRECTIONS FOR CRUMB TOPPING: Combine all dry ingredients and cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
