KEITH'S KENTUCKY PULLED PORK | |
6 or 7 lb. fresh pork shoulder 1 tsp. onion powder 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. sage 1 tsp. pepper 1/8 tsp. red pepper 1/2 tsp. MSG 4 tbsp. brown sugar 1/4 c. paprika Mix all the spices together and hand rub the shoulder on both sides! Make sure you use all the mix. Pour the rest on top if left over. Now set your oven to 400°F. Place shoulder in a roasting pan with 1 1/2-inch sides or more. Spray the pan with coating or grease with lard. Place the shoulder in the pan, meat side up. Place in oven; do not cover. After 30 minutes, turn heat down to 250°F. Let bake for 6 hours. After pork comes out of the oven, take fork and punch in and pull. Pork should be tender. Pull enough for sandwich or have a meal and be sure to smother meat in barbecue sauce. Goes good with slaw and taters or makes a real bedtime snack! Just eat with your fingers. Keeps well in fridge. Don't use salt in this recipe. It doesn't need salt. |
